Splatoon Hands On Impressions

Splatoon was my biggest surprise from the Nintendo Post E3 Event, it managed to amaze me like no other game did. The shooter looks like a kiddy paintball game designed with little depth and complexity. But looks can be deceiving.

Yoshi’s Woolly World Hands on Impressions

After the unimaginative slugfest that was Yoshi’s New Island, I was eagerly awaiting something new and fresh for the next Yoshi game. Woolly World came completely out of left field in Nintendo’s conference, and I wasn’t too enthralled. But the hands on demo changed my opinion completely as it has the potential to become the best family friendly co op game for the Wii U.

Hyrule Warriors Hands On Impressions

Looking at Hyrule Warriors from a distance makes it appear to be another typical Dynasty Warriors clone, even brandishing “Warriors” in its name to emphasis that it’s a shameless skin. But looking a little closer reveals that Hyrule Warriors is a little different. It takes the fundamental ideas from the DW series (I.E killing hoards of mindless enemies to build up special moves that clear the screen) and builds upon them by adding elements from the Zelda franchise.

One Piece Unlimited World Red Review

Written by Milo Fisher

One Piece has been going for over 15 years now, and yet has never managed to find a video game genre that fit it. The series would often borrow from other franchises for its video game adaptations (see One Piece Pirate Warriors 2) but would never dare to be original. One Piece Unlimited World Red takes a bold step for the franchise by being the first original title to grace a home system, and it does so wonderfully.

The Lego Movie Game Review

Lego movie

Words by Milo Fisher

After the recent release of the fantastic Lego Movie, expectations for the movie based tie-in game were high. So far all Lego games had been tied to another franchise, so having the game be set in a world that was made to already be Lego was a scary thought. Would the game be able to deliver the same amount of entertainment and comedy as the film while also providing hours of addictive gameplay? Well…

Milo Fisher: Pikmin 3 Impressions

Words by Milo Fisher

The Pikmin series has been around for the past twelve years and has received nothing but praise from both critics and the community, yet it’s taken this long for me to finally get round to playing this adorable series. Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon because I DON’T KNOW! Review

Adventure Time. Cartoon Network’s hit show about a boy and his dog. With a series with such a well crafted world and many memorable characters, it seems that a game set in the world would be fantastic. Sadly, Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon because I DON’T KNOW isn’t the game fans have been waiting for.

Batman: Arkham Origins announced

Batman Arkham Origins GI cover

Warner Bros. has announced the newest edition to the Arkham series with Batman: Arkham Origins. While the game has not been fully revealed, a few things are known. This title takes Batman back near the start of his superhero career. Before the Dark Knight was the ultimate crime fighter and master detective, he had to begin at the bottom and work his way up. Bringing in villains before they hit the big time will help even the odds against this early Batman. One of these villains is Deathstroke, as seen in the Game Informer magazine cover. Of course Batman still wins. He always wins. He’s Batman.
