American game retailer GameStop’s chief financial officer Rob Lloyd claims that the PS4 and Xbox One will be cheaper at launch than their predecessors in 2005.

Yesterday during a post-earnings financial call, Lloyd mentioned that GameStop does not have any official pricing from either company, but to expect a ‘lower opening price point than they did last cycle’

The Xbox 360 was released 8 years ago with a launch price of £209.99 for the Core console and £279.99 for the Premium model. Whereas the PS3 was released in 2006 with a price tag of a massive £425.

Hopefully more will be revealed for pricing and launch dates for both of these consoles at E3 starting on June 11th and finishing on the 13th.
