Marvel’s Deadpool gets his own game
Gamers who are also Deadpool fans rejoice! As the merc with a mouth is getting his own video game.
Announced on June 14th at the San Diego Comic Con, a teaser trailer for the simply titled “Deadpool” was released showing off what the popular Marvel antihero does best: Being crudely funny, insanely violent, and breaking that fourth wall. The
developer behind the project is High Moon Studios and publisher being Activision. High Moon Studios is best known for last-generation’s Darkwatch and current-gen’s Transformers: War For Cybertron, as well as the upcoming sequel, Fall of Cybertron.
While there’s no detail on story, based on the gun-slinging/katana-wielding character and what was shown in the teaser, the gameplay might resonate mechanics familiar from the Devil May Cry series, which is interesting because during the promotion of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (a game Deadpool is playable in), DMC’s protagonist Dante was often most paired up with Deadpool in fights.
Gamers who aren’t too big on Marvel comics will more than likely shrug this off, but anyone who enjoys the character will probably have their eye out for this title.
The game is said to be released somewhere next year (2013).
