Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Review

War. War never changes.

The Legend of Korra: The Video Game Review

The animated Avatar franchise has had a bad history with video game adaptations. Past games that focused on the series have all been shallow beat-‘em ups with little enjoyment other than fan service. The Legend of Korra hopes to right the wrongs of past games in the franchise by being an action packed 3D brawler that can appeal to anyone.

Destiny Review

Words by Milo Fisher

Destiny is a universe jam packed full of adventure. Unfortunately, most of those adventures end up being repetitive and unimaginative.

Here’s Something Awesome: Octodad: Dadliest Catch

There aren’t enough games out there that are just bonkers. Octodad: Dadliest Catch says goodbye to logic and normality to make a hilarious and wonderfully enjoyable adventure.

Here’s Something Scary: Outlast

Words by Milo Fisher

“No! nonononononono! S**T NOOOOOOO!” This made up the majority of my playtime with Outlast on the PS4, a survival horror game so creepy that I struggled to press forward even with the lights on. Scaredy-cats beware, this is one spooky ride.

1.8M people are on GameStop’s PS4 waiting list

Xbox One and PS4 are sending console shaped shockwaves out globally at the moment with huge sales and high demand. Demand is so high that any stock that stores can muster up is quickly depleted causing havoc for next-gen willing gamers that haven’t cunningly placed their pre-order months in advance.

War on console sales has begun. Sony claims more, Microsoft claims fastest

Xbox one ps4

With both consoles releasing in November, both have sold an impressive amount. Sony reportedly leads with a higher total sold throughout the month, however Microsoft makes a bold statement saying that their console reached sales numbers much faster than the PS4. The numbers really can’t stand out for much in just the first month as they both launched in different weeks.

Next-Gen console launch celebrations tainted with devastating hardware issues

X1 PS4

With new technology there is always the possibility of unforeseen problems that arise immediately after they are released. It’s especially common in this day and age where cell phones get upgraded every six months, tablets and computers at least every three. It’s difficult to imagine that there is a long testing phase for these products, yet the vast majority usually go off without a hitch. Why is it then, that a product that has been in development for years can have so many issues?

Contrast review

Contrast is an incredibly creative game with so much potential. But a lack of focus and constant amount of bugs keep this game from being something truly magical.

The big question: Who won E3?

The biggest question that always comes out about E3 is “Who stole the show?” While it’s fun to discuss this with your buddies over XBL, PSN, or over a beer, the debate always gets fairly heated. It’s a very large scale, open-ended question that sometimes results in confused opinions and hate-laced rants. Millions of gamers watched the broadcasted conferences, demo streams, and interviews, but a vast majority of gamers rely on answering that big question. While it is very opinion-based, one thing is certain, a report based on who exactly won E3 can lead to larger sways in sales from mob mentality.

Next-gen pricing: European extortion

money cost

It’s not uncommon to see higher prices in Europe compared to the United States. This is fairly standard in most areas due to higher import/export costs and higher tax rates. Video games are no exception to the rule and routinely can be at least $10-$15 more per title. Console costs are usually higher as well, but these are relatively slim numbers for the most part, in the area of $30-$40 USD. With the announcement of the next-gen console pricing, the minor gap in price has become a gigantic chasm of which most gamers will likely balk at diving into.
