Yoshi’s Woolly World Hands on Impressions

After the unimaginative slugfest that was Yoshi’s New Island, I was eagerly awaiting something new and fresh for the next Yoshi game. Woolly World came completely out of left field in Nintendo’s conference, and I wasn’t too enthralled. Hyrule Warriors Hands On Impressions

Looking at Hyrule Warriors from a distance makes it appear to be another typical Dynasty Warriors clone, even brandishing “Warriors” in its name to emphasis that it’s a shameless skin. But looking a little closer reveals that Hyrule Warriors is a little different.It takes the fundamental ideas from the DW series (I.E killing hoards of mindless enemies to build up special moves that clear the screen) and builds upon them by adding elements from the Zelda franchise. The biggest question that always comes out about E3 is “Who stole the show?” While it’s fun to discuss this with your buddies over XBL, PSN, or over a beer, the debate always gets fairly heated. It’s a very large scale, open-ended question that sometimes results in confused opinions and hate-laced rants. Millions of gamers watched the broadcasted conferences, demo streams, and interviews, but a vast majority of gamers rely on answering that big question. While it is very opinion-based, one thing is certain, a report based on who exactly won E3 can lead to larger sways in sales from mob mentality. Read more

Nintendo came into last generation with the goal of connecting with the Casual market. Wii Sports, Nintendo Dogs, Brain Age, etc. It was a huge success. But even with that gigantic push it was only able to go so far. There was a problem. In catering to the casual market they neglected the core gamer.
